WHAT CHANGES THE WORK

Same room count.
Different moving day.

A second-floor apartment with a distant loading area can take a different plan from a house with a driveway. A sleeper sofa needs different handling from a light armchair. Share the details early so they appear in the quote.

  • Volume: rooms, boxes, furniture and storage areas
  • Access: stairs, elevators, parking and walking distance
  • Timing: service date, truck readiness and building access
  • Special care: fragile pieces, heavy items and disassembly

A note about transportation.

North Carolina regulates household-goods transportation within the state and publishes a maximum-rate moving tariff. Hourly moving labor to load or unload your own truck or container is a separate service from transporting your belongings. If you ask us to bring a truck, that part is quoted separately for your job.

MOVING PRICES, EXPLAINED

Moving cost questions.

How much do movers cost in Raleigh?

With Moving for Jesus, two movers cost $90 an hour in the daytime for the first three hours and $81 an hour from hour 4, with a two-hour minimum of $180. Three movers are $130 an hour and four are $170, with the same 10% drop from hour 4. Those are labor prices for the whole crew. A truck, if we bring one, and packing are quoted separately for your job.

Is the hourly price per mover or for the whole crew?

For the whole crew. Two movers together are $90 an hour, not $90 each. The $180 minimum is the total for two movers and two daytime hours.

How does the 10% discount work?

Hours 1 to 3 are full price; hour 4 and every hour after it are 10% off. With two movers in the daytime, three hours is $270, four hours is $351 and five hours is $432.

Does the minimum apply to one item or a short job?

Yes. Every job has a two-person, two-hour minimum, including furniture and smaller moves. Two movers cost at least $180 in the daytime even if the job takes less than two hours. A bigger crew has a bigger two-hour minimum.

Does the price include a moving truck or supplies?

The hourly rate is labor only. Most customers rent their own truck or book a container and we load it, unload it, or both. If you want us to bring a truck, say so and we will quote it for your job; the truck is never priced on this page because it depends on the move. Tell us what blankets, straps and boxes you have and we will say what else the job needs.

What changes how many hours I need?

The amount of stuff, stairs and elevators, the walk from the truck, how much is already packed, big or awkward furniture, and whether the truck is ready when the crew arrives. Tell us about every stop and we will suggest a crew size and a rough time.

What do evening and overnight moves cost?

We work 24 hours Monday to Saturday; Sunday is closed. Time worked between 5 p.m. and 6 a.m. costs 25% more, only for those hours. Two movers are $112.50 an hour after hours for hours 1 to 3 and $101.25 from hour 4. Two fully after-hours hours are $225; a 4 p.m. start for four hours is $416.25. Put a start time in the calculator to see your own number.

Are the rates the same as your U-Haul Moving Help listing?

Yes. The daytime crew rates for two, three and four movers match our Moving Help listing, checked September 10, 2026, including the 10% discount after three hours. The 25% after-hours increase and the two-mover, two-hour minimum apply to direct bookings.

Is a quote request the same as a booking?

No. Sending the form or a text starts the conversation. Joey texts you back, you agree on the plan and the price, and then your date is booked.

Is moving labor regulated in North Carolina?

North Carolina regulates household-goods transportation within the state through the NC Utilities Commission, which publishes a maximum-rate tariff. Hourly moving labor to load or unload your own truck or container is a separate service from transporting your belongings. If you ask us to bring a truck, we quote that part separately.
