FIRST, PICK THE KIND OF HELP

You have the truck.

Loading or unloading help for the vehicle or container you arrange. Tell us the size, when it will be ready, and whether you need help at one address or both.

Plan loading or unloading

You need a moving plan.

A home or apartment move starts with the inventory and access at both ends. A truck is not automatically included; transportation and equipment are confirmed with your quote.

Plan a home move

You need a head start.

Packing a kitchen, a few rooms, or a whole home needs its own time and supplies. Share what is already packed and what materials you have.

WHAT CHANGES THE WORK

Same room count.
Different moving day.

A second-floor apartment with a distant loading area can take a different plan from a house with a driveway. A sleeper sofa needs different handling from a light armchair. Share the details early so they appear in the quote.

  • Volume: rooms, boxes, furniture and storage areas
  • Access: stairs, elevators, parking and walking distance
  • Timing: service date, truck readiness and building access
  • Special care: fragile pieces, heavy items and disassembly

A note about transportation.

North Carolina regulates household-goods transportation within the state. Review the current NC Utilities Commission moving tariff and confirm the transporting carrier and applicable terms. Labor-only loading help is a different service from transporting your belongings.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Your cost questions.

01What do evening and overnight moves cost?

Service is available 24 hours Monday–Saturday; Sunday is closed. Work from 5 p.m. to 6 a.m. Eastern costs 25% more, only for the time worked in that window. The increase applies after the hour-four discount. Two movers cost $112.50 per after-hours hour for hours 1–3 and $101.25 per after-hours hour from hour 4. Two fully after-hours hours cost $225; four cost $438.75. A 4 p.m. start for four hours costs $416.25: one daytime hour and three after-hours hours. Availability and final scope are confirmed before booking.

02How much does moving help cost in Raleigh?

Daytime moving labor for two: $90/hour for the first 3 hours, then $81/hour from hour 4 onward. Two-hour minimum: $180. Work from 5 p.m. to 6 a.m. Eastern costs 25% more. Three movers are $130/hour and four are $170/hour for the first three hours, with 10% off each hour from hour 4. These are crew labor rates; transportation, supplies and any additional charges are confirmed before booking.

03Is the hourly price per mover or for the whole crew?

The rate covers the whole crew. At daytime base rates, two movers together cost $90 per hour for hours 1 through 3, then $81 per hour from hour 4. The daytime two-hour labor minimum is $180 total for that crew; after-hours work costs 25% more.

04How does the 10% discount work?

Only hours 4 onward are discounted. At daytime base rates with two movers, three hours costs $270, four hours costs $351, and five hours costs $432 in labor. The first three hours stay at the $90 base rate. After-hours time costs 25% more, including discounted hours.

05Does the minimum apply to one item or a short job?

Every job has a two-person, two-hour minimum, including furniture and smaller moves. Two movers cost at least $180 at daytime rates in labor even if your job takes less than two hours. A larger crew has a higher two-hour minimum.

06Are the rates the same as your U-Haul Moving Help listing?

The daytime base moving-labor rates for two, three and four helpers match our Moving Help listing checked September 10, 2026, including its 10% discount after three hours. Direct website work from 5 p.m. to 6 a.m. Eastern costs 25% more. Direct website requests always require at least two people and two hours. Review the final price, availability and booking terms on whichever channel you use.

07Does the calculator include a moving truck or supplies?

No. It calculates crew labor only. You arrange the rental truck or container and its transportation for labor-only service. Tell us what supplies and equipment you have; we confirm the remaining arrangements and any additional charges before booking.

08What can change how much time I need?

The inventory, stairs, elevators, walking distance, packing, large or awkward furniture, and readiness of the truck all affect the work. Tell us about every stop. Whole-hour calculator examples do not set partial-hour billing terms; those are confirmed with your booking.

09Is a quote request the same as a booking?

No. Sending the form starts a conversation with Joey. Your date is reserved only after availability, the scope, pricing, and booking terms have been confirmed directly.

Let’s put your move into focus.
